Norma Alce was born in Sydney and, although she did not receive formal art training, she developed her skills through joining various clubs and societies which focused on her interests of copper work, lapidary, silver work and enamelling.
Her artistic career has spanned over 40 years.
To increase her skills she attended many workshops and later conducted her own workshops imparting the knowledge she had acquired over many decades to others.
She has won many prizes for her enamelling and was a successful exhibitor at The Sydney Royal Easter Show for many years.
She travelled to Japan seven times and exhibited at the 40th Memorial International Enamelling Art Exhibition in Japan in 2006.
Her work was also selected for an exhibition at the Ueno Royal Museum, Japan, in July 2006.
In Australia she has participated in many group exhibitions at various venues including Prouds in Sydney.
Her enamel work includes copper-based pictures, bowls, plates and enamel jewellery on a base of either copper or silver.
